Abstract

835,551. Temperature-sensitive devices. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 25, 1957 [April 26, 1956], No. 12803/56. Class 40 (1). A device for giving an electrical output which is indicative of rate of change of temperature comprises two temperature - sensitive resistors R1 and R2 with different time rates of response incorporated in a bridge circuit with fixed resistors R3 and R4. The thermometers are so matched that at any constant value of temperature the bridge output is zero. The time rate of response of R2 may be increased by surroundng the resistor by a layer of thermally insulating material. The resistances of R1 and R2 are small compared with the resistances R3 and R4. This reduces the sensitivity but increases the linearity of the response. The output is developed across resistor RL.
