785,848. Batteries. PRITCHETT & GOLD & E.P.S. CO., Ltd. Aug. 21, 1956 [Sept. 9, 1955], No. 25836/55. Class 53. The electrolyte of a lead-acid battery consists of a mixture of dilute sulphuric acid and fine particles of silica of sub-micron size. The mixture may contain 8-24 per cent by weight of the silica having a particle size of about 0.015 Á and may be whisked to lower its viscosity prior to pouring into the battery.
