Abstract

753,869. Wire-spoke wheels. HUGHES Ltd., G. H. Feb. 28, 1955 [Feb. 26, 1954], No. 5674/54. Class 144 (1). In a wire-spoked wheel wherein pairs of adjacent spokes 2 each comprise a single length of wire anchored at its middle portion by a bent-over tongne 1c of a hub end-plate 1, the two end-plates 1 are axially spaced by a tubular hub shell 6 which surrounds the peripheries of the end plates and has spaced recesses in its edges to accommodate the spokes. As shown, the endplates comprise circular pressings and are centrally apertured to receive a nylon or like bearing bush 5.
