Abstract

747,335. Vehicle couplings. EVANS, S. R. Oct. 4, 1954, No. 28536/54. Class 103 (5). A trailer drawbar 15 has an eye 16 pivotally engaging a pin 5 mounted on a U-shaped member 1, the drawbar 15 having depending plates 17 connected by a bolt 18 mounting rollers 20 over which the part 4 of the U may move. The arms 2 are provided with sloping end surfaces 7 which may engage and guide a cross-bar 10 on the tractor into engagement with sockets 9. The bar 10 may then be locked in the sockets by means of hooks 14 connected internally of the arms by rods 11 to a cross-rod 12 which may be rotated by a handle 13 to lower or raise the hooks 14. Braces 21, 26 are provided, and a head 27 is welded to the pin 5 to retain the axis substantially horizontal for hitching.
