Class 132(1) Apparatus for rocking the seat of. an amusement ride comprises a first link 16 that is connected to the seat, to a crank 14 or eccentric rotated by a prime mover 13 and to a fulcrummed beam 19 remote from the fulcrum 22 and a second link 25 that is pivoted to the seat, away from its connection with the first link 16, and to the beam 19 away from the fulcrum 22 on the opposite side from the first link, the links, seat and beam forming the sides of a quadrilateral with the seat wholly above or wholly below the beam. An effigy 10 of a horse with a saddle 11 is pivoted at 18 and 27 to sockets 17 and 26 within which are held the upper ends of links, 16, 25. The lower end of link 25 is held in a socket 24 pivoted to beam 19 which is fulcrummed at 22 between plates 20. The lower end of link 16 is held in a sleeve pivoted to the end of crank 14 mounted on the shaft of the electric motor 13 and, near its lower end, link 16 passes through and is secured to a sleeve 23 pivoted to beam 19. The latter pivot extends at one side to engage spring device 35 which assists link 16 in lifting the front of the effigy. A pivoted spring biased lever 28 is arranged to close switch 33 when bar 29 is pulled. Switch 33 makes or breaks the circuit of a solenoid-operated relay which is connected to energize the motor 13. A coin freed time switch 36 is fitted in series with the current supply of motor 13. The motor and beam 19 are enclosed in a casing 12, as shown, which has two wheels 37 which may be lowered to allow the amusement ride to be wheeled about.
