Abstract

740,138. Rotary pumps. HOJBERG, L. B. June 22, 1954, No. 18253/54. Class 110(2) A rotary pump of the radially sliding vane type for use with milk, beer, wine oil, &c. has a rotor 18 having two similar coaxial halves and having a diametral slot 19 to house a pair of vanes 26, 26<SP>1</SP> pressed apart by a spring 27, the length of each vane 19 being just less than the radius of the cylindrical bore of the pump.housing 1. The end faces of the rotor 18 have cylindrical shoulders 20, 20<SP>1</SP> which engage cylindrical recesses 11 in the pump housing for partial support of the rotor. A stub shaft 15 is secured to one end of the rotor and a drive shaft 14 is detachably secured to the other end so that when a detachable end plate 4 is removed the rotor 18 may be withdrawn from the pump housing. The inlet and outlet ports 6, 7 are tangential to the pump housing.
