Class 117 [Also in Groups V, XXIV, XXV and XXX] Apparatus for delivering nails, tacks or the like one at a time to moulding mechanism (see Group V) comprises a funnel 21, which supplies the nails to a rotating drum 22 having curved vanes 27 which pick up the nails and drop them into a collecting throat 28. The throat feeds the nails point downwards into the slot 29 of a shoot 31, down which the nails slide. A rotary star wheel 32' prevents improperlypositioned nails from sliding down the shoot and returns them to the drum. At the bottom of the shoot the nails are held up by the forked end 46 of a leaf spring 45a. The nails are released one at a time by a horizontally-reciprocating member 81; as this member moves from right to left, Fig. 7, its bevelled undersurface 82 engages the upper surface of the bottom nail 47 and forces that nail downwardly past the spring end 46, which yields as shown by dotted lines, the other nails being held up by a bevelled surface 83 on member 81. The nail 47 drops into a cradle 51, from which it is later pushed into a bore in a mould part. Specification 643,855, [Group V], is referred to.
