Class 44 A door catch comprises a pivotally mounted catch lever 1, an operating lever 7 pivotally mounted intermediate its ends with one end coacting with the catch lever 1 and the other end coacting with a member 10, pressure on which withdraws the catch lever against the pressure of a helical torsion spring 4 which normally presses the lever 1 into its catching position. The levers 1, 7 are mounted in a box 3 consisting of a U-shaped channel fixed to a back plate and the member 10 is carried by a bracket 11 fixed by a strip 13 to the box 3.
