Abstract

670,525. Pistons. LARAQUE, R. July 11, 1949. [July 9, 1948] No. 18336/49. Class 122(i). A piston wherein the connecting rod is rigidly'assembled with the gudgeon pin, comprises a lower part 2 carrying the gudgeon pin 7 and a concentric upper part 1 screwed on to the lower part and bearing thereon on two regions 61, 20 on either side of the gudgeon pin. A cooling chamber 11 is formed between the parts 1, 2 and is supplied with coolant through the gudgeon pin. Grooves 15 in the gudgeon pin bearing communicate with the chamber 11 and with chambers 19 at the ends of the gudgeon pin.
