658,068. Combs; hair-singeing appliances. WILLIAMS, L. July 29, 1949, No. 19922. [Class 131] A hair comb, having an electrically heated hair singeing element 18, comprises a box-like container 7, made of electricity insulating material and provided with an open end over which a comb 19, secured to the container, projects, an insulating member 11, supporting the element 18, being adjustable within the container to move the element towards and away from the comb. The heating element comprises a porcelain tube enclosing a metal part having projecting contacts held in place between the contacts 16 by a rubber band 17. The comb may be formed by cementing together layers of metal, mica and asbestos and cutting teeth in the composite sheet.
