Abstract
655,400. Induction heating. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Aug. 11, 1947, No. 22225. Convention date, March 25, [Class 39 (iii)] Two or more pairs of metal members closely surround two or. more parts of a workpiece, and the members of each pair are electrically insulated from one another and pass high frequency current in opposite directions. The pairs of members may be separated from one another without interruption of the electrical supply circuit. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 5 and 6 the upper members 58, 59, interconnected by strips 60, 61 form a, closed circuit, the current therein being induced by the passage of high frequency current through the lower members 53, 54 via connecting strips 55, 56. The parts 69, 70, which include pairs of members 74, 75, Fig. 2 and 3, and which may be separated by mica strips, are used to solder together tubular parts 64, 65, 66, of a bicycle frame. Members 74, 75 surround the frame at the required points and are integral with semi-cylindrical shells 71 each forming transformer secondary windings; the currents in each part 69, 70 flow in opposite directions.
