Abstract
641,510. Liquid fuel nozzles. LUCAS, Ltd., J. Feb. 16, 1948, No. 4437. [Class 75(i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a liquid fuel injection nozzle with tangential passages delivering to a swirl chamber p the passages are arranged so that turbulence is set up at an intermediate point in each passage. As shown the tangential passages are formed in a plate f secured in a body part a between a plate c having the nozzle orifice e and a backing plate g having ports h communicating with the equal diameter inlet ends n of the tangential passages. At an intermediate point the passages are reduced to a smaller bore o thereby providing shoulders q setting up turbulence.
