[Class 28(ii)] To remove foliage from onions, the onions are fed on to an openwork conveyor belt 2 subjected to an upwardly directed air-current sufficiently intense to set the foliage on end, the foliage being cut off whilst in that position by one or more rotating knife-blades 15 co-operating with a stationary counter knife 18.
