[Class 4] [Also in Group XXXII] A vehicle comprising the combination of an automobile A forming a landing gear and an aircraft B detachably secured to the automobile is characterised in that the aircraft is provided with extensible posts 10 which serve to raise the aircraft from the landing gear and to support the aircraft when the landing gear has been removed. The aircraft B comprises wings 1, an airscrew 4 driven by an engine on the aircraft, twin booms 5 and tail surfaces including a rudder 7 and a keel 6. The posts 10 are V-shaped; the upper ends 11, 12 being hinged and adjustably stayed to the aircraft and the lower ends 13 are detachably secured to the automobile A. Further securing means may also be provided between the aircraft from the automobile, the lower ends 13 of the posts 10 are detached from the automobile and splayed outwardly, the posts are extended at 15 to meet the ground, the fastenings between the aircraft and the automobile are disconnected and the posts 10 are further extended to raise the aircraft from the automobile. The. automobile has a single steerable front wheel 19 and two rear wheels 22 mounted on shookabsorbers 21. The controls 16, 17, 18 of the aircraft are arranged to extend into the cabin 23 of the automobile. The posts 10 may be extensible by fluid pressure or mechanically.
