Abstract

559,334. Battery lamps. PLATERS & STAMPERS, Ltd. (Katzinger Co., E.). July 10, 1942, No. 9640. [Classes 39 (ii) and 75 (ii)] In a focussing lamp assembly for a flashlight lamp comprising, in a single removable structure, reflector, lamp and focussing mechanism. The lamp 20 carries a collar 22 upon which. rests a sleeve 23 having inturned and out-turned flanges, A compression spring 34 rests upon the latter flange and engages an anular shoulder 33 in a shell 31 carried by the reflector 19. The centre contact of the lamp engages an insulated conducting member 29 carried by a socket member 25 enclosing the spring and sleeve and adapted to engage an inturned flange 36 on a screwed ring 38 carried by the shell 31 to limit the movement of the lamp in relation to the reflector. The conducting member 29 is maintained by the spring in engagement with the end contact of a battery. The reflector abuts a lens ring 15 on. the flashlamp casing. When the spring is fully compressed by screwing in the lens ring the lamp filament is in the focus of the parabolic reflector. The ring 38 carries a conducting disc 40 whereby a switch member 39 completes a circuit extending through the shell 31, spring 34, sleeve 23, collar 22, lamp, conducting member 29, battery and a rigid conductor in an insulating block (not snown), to the casing 10.
