554,547. Slippers. ROTHSCHILD, M. W. July 10, 1942, No. 9641. [Class 17 (ii)] A turn slipper is provided with a sole of the softfilled platform type comprising a filling 3 extending the full length of the slipper glued to a wedge-shaped layer 5, both of felt, a tread layer 6 of solf leather glued to an inner layer 7 of cardboard, an inner layer 8 of thin stiff felt and a lining layer 9 of soft felt glued to an underlayer of thin cardboard. A wedgeshaped lift 10 of stiff-felt, cork &c. is provided at the heel, and an edge covering 11 extends completely round the sole. After assembling and turning, the slipper is steamed on a last and left to dry, to harden the felt parts 3, 5, and 10 of the sole which are initially soft.
