Abstract

549,898. Hose clips. PRITCHARD, F. Nov. 12, 1941, No. 14567. [Class 44] A wire hose-clip tightened by a toggleaction device comprises a V-form wire having hooks b at the free ends, the limbs being formed into a pair of substantially parallel spaced circular coils a leading to portions coiled round a hingepin c, the portions d beyond the hinge-pin forming a' tongue the bight-end d' of which is disposed between the hooked ends b. A loop member e adapted to engage the hooks has inturned ends e<1> (which may meet and be secured together) pivoted in coils f<1> formed in the side members of a wire operating lever f, the end portions of the side members being coiled round the hinge-pin to provide a pivotal mounting for the lever. The lever and loop form the toggle-acting means which tighten the clip when lever f is moved to the position shown in full lines, Fig. 2, and release it when moved to the dotted-line position. Preferably the free end of the loop is inwardly bent as at e<2> to provide spaced seatings for the hooks b.
