547,015. Refrigerating. ELECTROLUX,. Ltd. March 14, 1941, No. 3482. Convention date, March 26, 1940. [Class 29] Absorption systems.-In a continuous-cycle inert gas system the annular chamber 34 of a horizontal generator communicates by a sloping conduit 36 with an upright stand pipe 37 divided by a partition 38 into upper and lower chambers 39, 40 connected by an external conduit 41, and generated vapour rises through liquor in the conduit 36 and in the upper chamber 39, which constitutes an analyser, and passes by the conduit 41 to the lower chamber, where it enters a gas lift pipe 42 and raises strong liquor flowing from the absorber 15 through a conduit 47, 48 forming the inner tube of a liquor heat exchanger 33 disposed around the generator. The strong liquor is delivered by the gas lift into an upright vessel 43 surrounding the stand pipe and communicating with the generator by a conduit 45. The weak liquor leaves the generator by a conduit 46 connecting with the outer conduit of the liquor heat exchanger and thence flows by a conduit 24 to the top of the absorber. The vessel 43 is surrounded by an upright extension 49 of the flue 35 of the generator, and is thus heated by the combustion products. Baffles 44 are placed in the upper part of vessel 43 which communicates with the usual air cooled rectifier 17 and condenser 11. The generator and liquor exchanger are embedded in a single body of heat insulation 51.
