Abstract

489,155. Clips and clamps. BIRCH, E. DE G. Jan. 28, 1938, No. 2750. [Class 44] A locking device for kit bags or the like comprises a pair of jaws 1, 2, pivoted together at 3, and having apertures 5, 6 in overlapping parts of the jaws, a pair of holes registering in a large number of positions of adjustment to receive a padlock or equivalent device. The gripping portions of the jaws have serrations 8. A lug 12 on each jaw overlaps the other jaw to guide it and ears 10 are bent up to facilitate manipulation. In a modification, the jaws consist of part circular plates, apertured to receive a padlock, having extensions formed with lateral projections facing each other and adapted to engage parts of an article which are to be locked against separation.
