Abstract
488,333. Heating water by electricity. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES. Sept. 2, 1937, Nos. 24036 and 24037. Convention dates, Sept. 2, 1936 and Oct. 1, 1936. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electrically-heated hot water heating installation having a water accumulator 1 to which the heating energy is periodically supplied by a heating element 2 and to which a flow pipe 6 and return pipe 15 are connected, the accumulator has in its upper part a second heating element 2 and a second return pipe 14 in proximity to element 2. Pipes 14 and 15 are provided with valves 9 and 10. During the discharge period of the accumulator valve 10 is open and valve 9 closed while during the heating period the positions of the valves are reversed. A throttle valve may be arranged in pipe 6 controlled by a clock switch or current relay. This valve may be controlled according to the heating current of elements 2 and 3 or according to room temperatures.
