Abstract

487,796. Pipe joints. MOTT, A. C. Dec. 24, 1936, No. 35440. [Class 99 (i)] Sleeves 1 and 2, attached to opposed pipe ends 8 and 9, are forced together by a coupling nut 3 so that an annular V-shaped ridge 12 on one sleeve enters a recess 10 in the other sleeve. The groove is so formed as to produce a sharp edge at the inside of the sleeve in which it is formed.
