Abstract

479,404. R÷ntgen - ray diaphragms. AKTIEBOLAGET LINHAM. May 3, 1937. No. 12609. Convention date, May 5, 1936. [Class 98 (i)] Screens for intercepting secondary radiations in X-ray photography consisting of a grid of lead strips perpendicular to the plane of the screen are formed by sticking one or more layers of ray-transparent material such as paper on both sides of a sheet of lead of the required thickness, cutting the sheet into ribbons and uniting these to form the screen. The paper layer on one side may be thicker than that on the other and the combined thickness of the paper layers may be sufficient to fill the spaces between the strips. Non-hygroscopic adhesives of a consistency to be absorbed by the paper may be used. The screens have a fine grid, e.g. of two lead strips per mm. and may be stationary during the exposure.
