Abstract

479,077. Collapsable containers. DAVIS, C. Dec. 16, 1936, No. 34608. [Class 66] An axially-collapsable pleated container having the pleats 1 extending outwardly relative to the upper and lower tubular end portions 2, 3, Fig. 3, is provided with a casing 5, Fig. 4. of metal, cardboard &c., or of transparent material, supported on the uppermost pleat, the casing terminating if desired in a tubular neck portion fitting over the upper tubular end portion. The lower end of the container is fitted with a stopper or piston 6 and a detent, such as a spring 6<1> mounted on a ring device 7, 8, Fig. 6, sliding on the exterior of the casing is provided to prevent return movement of the partially collapsed container. The casing may comprise two portions, one of which is slidable telescopically within the other. A brush &c. holder 11 may be provided on the casing. Specification 479,037 is referred to.
