Abstract

474,349. Saddles. SCHUBERT, M. April 23, 1937, No. 11646. [Class 136 (iii)j The top of a cycle saddle is supported from the base bracket at the front by simple pivoted links forming one end of a parallel-motion linkage, and at the rear by two sets of parallelogrammic pivoted linkages, so as to ensure a strictly parallel up anddown movement. The top is supported from the base bracket k at the front by simple links a, and at the rear by two sets of parallelogrammic linkages b. The links a are connected to the linkages b by two rods c, which diverge from the front connection d, their transversely spaced rear ends being each connected directly at d<1> to the rear pivot of one of the linkages b, and through a sliding slotted connection f, e to the front pivot. The pivots f are fitted with rollers running in the slots e. The links are formed at their pivots with domed bearing bosses. Two springs g are interposed between the top and the base bracket, one outside each set of links b.
