Abstract

467,410. Piston extrusion apparatus. BERGERIOUX, R. Dec. 9, 1935, No. 34123. Addition to 463,316. [Class 102 (ii)] In piston extrusionapparatus the material is contained in a cartridge 1, Fig. 1, provided with a piston whichis finger-operated. The cartridge rests on a flange 4 on the casing 3 and is secured by means of a screw cover 5 provided with the extrusion orifice 6. In a modification the end 5 is integral with the casing 3 and the flange 4 is formed on a ring screwing on to the casing. In this form the lower end of the cartridge has a flange engaging the flange 4. In a further modification, Fig. 3, the outer casing 12 has slits 13 and an inturned flange 16, and the cartridge is inserted by pressure, and is secured by the flange 16. A flange at the upper end of the cartridge engages the packing ring 15. The splits 13 can be spread by means of projections 17 on a ring 18, in order to remove the cartridge. The latter, before use, may be closed by end caps ; and the extrusion orifice 21, Fig. 5, may be provided with a perforator 25 for piercing the end cap. The nozzle may be provided with a rubber ring for spreading the material. The outer casing may be of transparent material. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 409,828.
