Abstract
464,358. Cleaning swimming - baths. RICKS, SUTCLIFFE, & BOWDEN, Ltd., and BOWDEN, G. Nov. 28, 1935, No. 33028. [Class 138 (i)] Apparatus for cleaning swimming-baths comprises a casing mounted on wheels and adapted to be moved on the floor of the bath, brushes within the casing adapted to be rotated by the movement of the wheels so as to scrub the floor, and one or more connections from the casing to a source of suction whereby water is continually removed from the casing while water enters it under its edges. In the construction shown, the bristles of the brushes are arranged in helical formation to urge the water in the casing towards the outlet 5 connected to a suction pump. The brushes are loosely mounted on spindles 6, 6<1> and are adapted to be rotated in opposite directions through belting 13, 13<1> from the floor wheels. The apparatus is adapted to be moved over the bath floor by means of a swinging handle 18, or by a rope. The edges of the casing are provided with strips 17 of metal, indiarubber, or like material which are adjustable to vary the clearance of the casing above the floor.
