Abstract

457,022. Stapling continuous artificial fibre. TUTIHASI, K., 1464, Nokata-mati 2-tyome, Nakano-ku, Tokio. July 7, 1936, No. 18847. [Class 120 (iii)] Continuous artificial fibre is cut or stapled by winding a band or ribbon a in zigzag fashion successively over and under a series of closely spaced bars or rollers 1 so as to be held therebetween, the band a being moved in one direction and operated on by needles or spikes 2 attached to a revolving drum 3 disposed angularly to and in close contact with the bars 1 so that the fibre is cut at the upper horizontal stretches a<1> by the scratching of the needles or spikes. The bars or rollers 1 may be arranged on an endless belt while the drum may be mounted above or below the bars. In a modification the spikes 2 may be arranged on an endless belt.
