Abstract

443,523. Mops &c. SWALES, M., 24, Kingswood Road, Moseley, Birmingham. Feb. 12, 1935, No. 4497. [Class 19] The invention relates to a cleaning device for applying caustic solvents or other preparations, injurious to hands or clothing, to the inside of an oven or to a gas or other cooker. A cleaning wad 1 of sponge rubber or other suitable compressible and absorbent material is characterized in being provided with a tubular rubber socket 3 for attachment to a handle 4 with an enlargement at the top. Studs 5 are provided on opposite or all the faces of the wad 1 or the faces may be otherwise roughened. The handle is detachable and may have a splash shield 7. The head 1 may be made rounded and tapering to a point.
