Abstract
430,868. Stop valves. KANSARA, M. C., 118, Ambaji Road, Surat, Bombay, British India. Sept. 11, 1934, No. 26110. [Class 135] A stop valve 1 has a sleeve 4 screwed into the upper part thereof and formed with a spiral cam 13 at its lower end adapted to coact with a similarly shaped cam 8 formed on the upper surface of a closure member 7 carried by a rotary spindle 5 journalled in the sleeve, so that rotation of the spindle 5 by a handle 6 causes the valve to be opened or closed. The cam surface on the sleeve 4 is in two parts each extending over half the circumference and separated from one another by stops 16, and the cam surface on the member 7 is similarly formed and provided with stops 14, the engagement of the stops 14, 16 serving to limit the permissible rotation to 180‹. The lower surface of the member 7 is plane with a central projection 9 to accommodate a washer 10 adapted to coact with a seating 11.
