421,937. Television. SUDDEUTSCHE TELEFON - APPARATE - KABEL - UND DRAHTWERKE AKT.-GES., Tekade, Nuremberg, Germany. April 7, 1934, No. 10592. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1933. [Class 40 (iii)] The whole of the saw-tooth oscillations bf, zf necessary to control the scanning movement of a cathode-ray at a receiver is transmitted by a separate transmitter S2, the carrier frequency ft2 of which is also modulated by accompanying sound frequencies tf through an intermediate carrier frequency fz1. The carrier frequency of ft2 is modulated directly by both saw-tooth oscillations, Fig. 1 (not shown) or the saw-tooth oscillation bf of the picture frequency may first modulate an intermediate carrier fz2. The receiver E2 corresponding to the transmitter S2 comprises a detector D2 followed by filters F1, F2, F3 which supply the directly modulated oscillations zf to a low frequency amplifier V2, and the intermediate carriers fz1, fz2 each to a second detector D3, D4 followed by a low-frequency amplifier V5.
