Abstract
403,238. Pressure - reducing valves. FERNHOLZ, E., 5, Hohenzollernkorso, Tempelhof, Berlin. Feb. 3, 1933, No. 3378. Convention date, Feb. 5, 1932. [Class 135.] A portable high pressure container for compressed or liquefied gases is fitted with a pressure reducing valve so arranged that it can be used as a stop valve and as a charging valve. The valve member 5 which has a resilient face 6 is mounted on a guide stem 5a slidably mounted in a bush 4 so that the valve functions as a non- return valve. The upper end of the stem 5a engages an actuating diaphragm subject to outlet pressure and adjustably loaded by a spring 12. The diaphragm is supported by the lower surface of the cover 7 and a member 10 slidably mounted in the cover so as to prevent the diaphragm being bulged out on that side when the container is being filled. The member 10 moves into contact with a stop shoulder 16 to limit its movement and prevent the washer 6 being unduly compressed. The valve casing has an extension 3 projecting into the cylinder to prevent particles of rust passing into the valve passages.
