Abstract

394,655. H i n g e s . BARRINGER, WALLIS, & MANNERS, Ltd. and MANNERS, R., Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Dec. 21, 1931, No. 35328. [Class 65 (ii).] A hinge for a box comprises a pin 13 formed on the flange 101 of the lid and a hinge socket member, either integral with the body or formed from a piece of sheet metal 14, 15 bent to encircle the hinge pin, the portion 15 being larger than the portion 14 so that shoulders 16 are formed to act as stops against which the flange 101 of the lid abuts to support the lid in an inclined open position. The portion 14 of the socket member is passed through a slot 17 in the lid and a slot 18 in the body of the box and is bent upwardly as at 114 while the portion 15 is bent round the pin 13, inserted through the slot 18 and bent either upwardly as at 115 over the rim 19 of the body, or downwardly as at 215. The hinge socket may be integral with the lid and the pin with the body of the box. Specification 394,670 is referred to.
