[Class 143.] Automatic-feed weighers ; indicating- mechanism.-A shutter c is actuated by the weigh-beam or other moving part of a weighing-machine to expose a light-sensitive cell a to a source of light d when the weighment is at or near completion, the action of the cell serving to control the machine or indicate when the required quantity of material has been supplied to the machine. The cell may act through thermionic amplifying valves and a relay to control the feed cut-off and discharge mechanisms of an automatic-feed weigher. The first exposure of 'the call may bring into action a dribble-feed device, a further exposure being necessary to complete the weighing. Alternatively the device may be used to operate a lamp or other indicator for checking weighing operations performed by hand. Specification 363,910 is referred to.
