Abstract

358,059. Operating-tables. HOLBORN SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd. and ESSINGER, S. B., 26, Thavies Inn, Holborn Circus, London. July 2, 1930, No. 20136. [Class 52 (iii).] A surgical, dental, or like operating table comprises fluid-actuated means for tilting part or all of the table proper. The table shown comprises a hollow pedestal 10 containing the usual oil reservoir and pump by means of which the table proper 11 is raised and lowered. The table 11 is mounted on a tubular framework 16 on a piston rod 13, being secured to it by rigid stiuts 14 and a pivot pin 15. From the frame 16 depend two triangulated legs 18 carrying an oil pump 19, operated by a foot lever 26, for tilting the table 11 by means of the piston rod 23 and link 24. The piston rod 23 is fitted with securing clamp 32. A release valve is opened by a pedal 25, which operates between stops 28, 29. The table may be arranged so as to tilt in any desired direction by means of universal joints instead of pivots.
