Abstract

339,449. Goldsmith, C., and Goldsmith, W. Nov. 12, 1929. Outdoor games.- Apparatus for use in playing a stepping game comprises a surface formed of a plurality of elements, some or all of which are depressible, and adapted upon depression to close the circuits of visible and/or audible indicators. As shown, the depressible elements 1 are provided with contact element 10 normally maintained above similar elements 11 on a supporting platform 2 by means of springs 3. The elements may be retained against lateral movement by central members 5, Fig. 2, or 16, Fig. 3, or by means of bolts 18, Fig. 4. Switching means may be employed whereby certain of the elements may be rendered operative or inoperative, the switching means serving also to operate illuminating means when transparent elements are used. Paths may be marked on the surface, or the elements may form stepping stones crossing the representation of a stream. The surface may be inclined or stepped and the elements may, if desired, be depressed by hand.
