327,434. Grupe, W. F. Nov. 5, 1928. Tobacco-feeding machines.-In a machine comprising a feed hopper 10 and a horizontally pivoted carded roller 14 which is in direct contact with the mass of tobacco in the hopper and extracts the tobacco through a feeding aperture towards which the tobacco is urged along the hopper base by a belt 12 or other means, the hopper base is located at or above the level of the axis of the carded roller, or makes an angle of not less than 90‹ with that portion of the carded roller which is immediately above it. The upper run of the belt 12 may be horizontal or inclined downwards towards the roller 14.
