Abstract

Circuits for moving-coil instruments. - The coil a, a<1> of a moving-coil loud. speaker is centre tapped and continuous current is passed through it from end to end. As shown the coil is connected in the output of an amplifying-valve 2 through choke-capacity coupling 3, 6, 6<a>, the condenser forming the capacity is divided into two portions connected in common to the plate of the valve and respectively to each end of the coil, and the centre tapping 11 on the coil is connected through a condenser 7 by a lead 9 to the high-tension negative. The, coil is connected across the high-tension supply in parallel with the valve through a variable resistance 5 and low-frequency chokes 4, 4<a>. According to modifications, the choke capacity output coupling is replaced by transformer coupling (Fig. 2, not shown); the transformer has a split secondary (Fig. 3, not shown); two transformers are used (Fig. 4, not shown).
