Cutting slices in succession.-The means for controlling the compensating movements of the meat holder described in the parent Specification are modified, and comprise a lever arm, pivoted to one side of the feed table and extending across the feed table to engage in anchoring means. The lever arm engages the swinging meat hobler at an adjustable position to one side of the pivot of the meat holder. As shown in Figs. 1, 3, a last slice holder f is carried by a frame f<1> pivoted in lugs c<3> on a frame c which is supported on the usual uprights d. The other end of the frame f<1> is coupled to the frame c by a folding hinge member f<2> which assists in supporting the holder. A lever arm h is pivoted at g to the lug c<4> of the frame c and extends across the feed table to engage in a bifurcated guide i rotatably mounted on a rod i<1> and is retained in the raised position by a spring-pressed pin i<2> engaging in a circumferential groove in the rod i<1>. The lever h is connected to the holder f by a pin k engaging in a slot k<1> in the top edge of the frame f<1>. The point of connection is adjustable, to suit the initial shape of the meat being sliced; by moving the sleeve j, carrying the pin, along the lever h by rack and pinion mechanism i<1>, j<2>. A clamping screw j<3> is provided. In a modification, Fig. 7, the pivots g, e of the lever and meat holder are on the same side of the feed table. In a further modification, Fig. 8. a horizontal meat table m is pivoted on the clamp post o, and is angularly 'adjusted by the bar h pivoted at g and working in the stationary guide i. The adjustable clamp i carries a pin which works in a slot q in a bracket p on the meat table.
