Abstract
273,172. Plauson, H. Dec. 20, 1926. Skates.-In monowheel foot cycles and like vehicles, the axle 2 of the wheel 1 on one side supports a frame 3, which surrounds the wheel and is provided on the opposite side with a depending limb 4 having a pedal 5 to support the rider, the frame 3 being formed integral with or connected to an upright or stilt 6, which may be strapped to the rider. In modifications, a frame such as 3 extends almost completely around the wheel, and is provided with two parallel depending limbs each supporting a pedal, the two pedals lying on either side of a central pedal, which is connected to the axle or to an axle-carrying fork at the lower end of the stilt. The two limbs may be connected by a bridge-piece. The central pedal may be slightly lower than the side pedals, and may be provided with a layer of rubber &c. A brake may be provided as described in Specification 271,301.
