Description

PORTAL SECURITY AND PROTECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PORTAL
HELD
100011 The present invention relates to a portal security and protection system and method, in particular to a portal security and protection system including a networking video device and an electronic lock, and a method of implementing a portal security and protection through an integrated co-work of the networking video device and the electronic lock.
BACKGROUND
100021 With the rapid development with respect to the industry of information and communication technology (ICT), after sophisticatedly redesigned, many ordinary commonly-seen mechanics based devices are implanted and deployed with various electronic components such as electronic control units (ECUs), m crocontrollers (MCUs), sensors, actuators and communication modules and becomes smart devices. These redesigned smart devices are capable of further collaborating with other smart devices or a gateway nearby, or in addition, linking with and accessing into a cloud system to become a smart system, through the communicative connection of the intemet of things (IoT) technology. The best case available in daily life is a smart home system kit consisting of multiple smart home appliances.
[0003] When these conventional home appliances are electronically enhanced by the modem ICT technology, in addition to the original function, powerful advantages are further introduced. For example, when a smart electronic lock is applied to act as a door lock, it becomes much easy to manage for security personnel, as compared to the conventional mechanical door lock. In particular, for smart electronic locks unlocked based on a password input or b ometric identification, users no longer need to take along with any key piece or inductive cards, and totally get rid of troubles of not bringing or forgetting key pieces, inductive cards, or identification components. Users also can remotely operate to lock or release the door lock, which is very convenient. Furthermore, it is easy for the smart electronic lock to wirelessly connect with a user's mobile phone, or with the smart home system, or even integrate into and cooperate with the local security management system, or join in an external cloud management system, etc to provide a variety of functions.
100041 For a conventional smart home system or security management system, a client-server based architecture established within a finite coverage of a wireless local area network (WLAN) is the mostly used the network communication architecture. According to this type of architecture, multiple device nodes within a relatively small or limited coverage are all connected to a hub device, which is usually a gateway or gateway, forming a local communication network in a star-shaped topology. The hub device is usually a gateway device and multiple device nodes are then communicatively connected to the Internet or a cloud data center through the gateway device, each of which device nodes accepts commands and controls from the gateway device. For example, the gateway device automatically allocates and coordinates the occupied bandwidth for every device node working within the WLAN, switches among different communication protocols for device nodes, or updates firmware for device nodes. For example, for a smart home system including a smart electronic lock, the access authority to the lock, the entry authority to the portal, the remotely controlling, the lock locking and releasing, the data uploading, and the configuration to lock, for the smart electronic lock are actually commanded by the gateway device.
100051 However, for a smart home system, it usually includes a variety of smart devices, each of which represent a device node, and are distributed in different location and with different functions. For example, a commonly-seen smart home system includes a smart television, a smart sound bar, a user mobile device, a smart light fixture, a smart plug, a smart lock, a smart webcam, a smart air conditioning, and etc. When these device nodes assembly a WLAN together, and establish a wireless communitive connection with external through a gateway device, it is preferable to locate the gateway device at a center point over the WLAN established by these device nodes, so as to keep a short communication distance as averagely as possible with respect to every device node.
100061 When the gateway device is geographically deployed at a center point of multiple device nodes, in overall it seems each device nodes is assigned with a best-available shortest communication distance with respect to the gateway device. However, for some specific smart devices related to the personal and property security and protection, since it involves in transmitting and receiving security-sensitive data, it is worthwhile to provide with a better and safer quality of communication and reduce interferences occurring during communication, and even to minimize communication range as much as possible. Even more, it is necessary to spilt the portal security management system from the smart home system, to become an independent subsystem, or assign an independent communication path separate from other smart devices, so as to acquire better security.
[0007] Hence, there is a need to solve the above deficiencies/issues.
SUMMARY
10008] The present invention provides a system architecture applicable for a portal security and protection system or a portal security management system, principally based on an electronic lock, which the system architecture is able to integrate with the smart home system or used standalone independently. Based on the system architecture provided by the present invention, the electronic lock straightforwardly receives a control instruction transmitted from the networking video device. The architecture takes an advantage that the networking video device is used to install at a position very close to the electronic lock, and therefore the physical distance between the electronic lock and the networking video device is reduced to be short or very short. Hence during a process of remote operation to the electronic lock, the communication interferences and the signal damping are as significantly minimized as possible, to ensure the necessary communication quality and overcome the defect existing in the prior art.
100091 Furthermore, under the system architecture provided by the present invention, a user device is not required to be pre-bundled with the electronic lock, which significantly reduces a complexity of the operating procedure for using an electronic lock and provides a user experience much more convenience for a user. In addition, the present system architecture provides multiple options for configuring a gateway. It allows the gateway to directly build in the networking video device, or communicatively connect to other separated gateway externally, or remove the gateway module or function out of the entire system architecture, which is capable of enhancing the information security to prevent the combination code or the sensitive electronic data from being intercepted, hacked or stolen and reduce or avoid insecurity risk.

I. 100551 For the sake of understanding, the portal security and protection system 10 as disclosed in FIG. 1 will be used for detailed describing in the following sections.
100561 The present invention generally adopts a method of Internet of Things (ToT) system to establish a wireless communication link between the devices, such as the door phone 11, the doorbell device 12, the networking video device 13 and the electronic lock 14, to configure a local arear network. Between the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15, a P2P method is generally adopted to establish a wireless communication link between the devices. Between the message server 17 and the devices such as the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15, the wireless or wired communication connection between the deuces is generally established by the way of Internet access, and a wide area network (WAN) is established.
100571 The mobile device 15 used by the user to carry around is preferably a smart phone, a tablet device or a notebook computer. A security management application (APP) is installed in the mobile device 15 for user to operate. The mobile device 15 comprises communication modules such as a P2P wireless communication link module and a network connection link module, so as to generate a corresponding network connection link 34 and a P2P wireless communication link 33 on the mobile device 15 side, so that the mobile device 15 can establish the required network connection and a P2P wireless communication link with the message sewer 17 and the networking video device t3.
100581 As the visitor comes to the portal 20 and presses the button 111, the door phone 11 can respectively enable and establish the first communication link 31 between the door phone 11 and the indoor doorbell device 12 as well as the outdoor networking video device 13. After the link is established, the door phone 11 sends a visiting instriaction upward to and simultaneously wakes up the networking video device 13 through the first communication link 31, and sends a visiting instruction downward to and wakes up the doorbell device 12. In order to reduce the power consumption, the doorbell device 12 and networking video device 13 are preferably in a power saving mode, a standby mode or a sleep mode most of the time. The doorbell device 12 and the networking video device 13 exit the energy-saving mode after being awakened by the visiting instruction, and enter the working mode by overriding the energy-saving mode with the working mode. In this embodiment, the preferred first communication link 31 can be a wireless communication link established by the 868 MHz communication protocol. In another embodiment, the door phone 11 and networking video device 13 are integrated together as the real-time communication device 4. When the button 111 of the door phone 11 is pressed, the door phone 11 sends the visiting instruction to the networking video device 13 for waking up the networking video device 13 through physical connection I nes ins de the real-time communication device 4 (not shown) 100591 After the doorbell device 12 is awakened to enter the working mode, an internal loudspeaker s started to play the selected mus c melody according to the preset. After the networking video device 13 is awakened to enter the working mode, the camera lens 131, microphone and loudspeaker, etc. of the security lighting camera 13 are activated, and the network connection link 34 is enabled and established between the security lighting camera 13 and the message server 17. In this embodiment, the network connection link 34 is preferably a composite communication link composed of different communication protocols such as the Wi-Fi communication protocol and the wired Ethernet communication protocol, wherein the Wi-Fi communication protocol is received by the wireless router and transferred to the wired Ethernet communication protocol through the gateway device, and the HTTPS/SSL/TLS technology is applied throughout the communication process to ensure the communication security.
100601 After the network connection link 34 is established, the networking video device 13 sends a request notification to the message server 17 through the network connection link 34 to request the message server 17 to broadcast a notification message to the user-bound mobile device 15 through the network connection link 34. After being verified or confirmed by the message server 18 17, the network connection link 34 is established between the message server 17 and the mobile device 15. When the network connection link 34 is established, the message server 17 broadcasts the requested notification message to the user-bound mobile device 15, and when the user receives and reads the notification message through the bound mobile device 15, he can further click the notification message. The notification message embeds a command to start the security management APP. After the user clicks, the mobile device 15 starts the security management APP on the mobile device 15 according to the command. After being started, the security management APP reports the acknowledgement notification to the networking video device 13 through the same path of the network connection link 34.
100611 After receiving the acknowledgement notification, the networking video device 13 enables and establishes a P2P wireless communication link 33 between the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15 through the internal P2P wireless communication link module according to the acknowledgement notification. Between the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15, the binding, handshaking and definition required for the P2P communication link have been completed in advance in the transport layer through the P2P server 16. Then, on the basis of the P2P wireless communication link 33, the networking video device 13 further enables and establishes a P2P real-time communication streaming channel between the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15, in order to send back the real-time video stream captured by the camera lens 131 from the networking video device 13 to the security management APP of mobile device 15 through the P2P wireless communication link 33 and the P2P real-time streaming channel. Next, the networking video device 13 starts the camera lens 131 to shoot real-time video of portal 20 surroundings, and through the P2P wireless communication link 33 and the P2P real-time streaming channel to send back the captured real-time video stream shot to the security management APP of the mobile device 15.
100621 At this time, the user can receive and view the real-time video stream sent back by the networking video device 13 by operating the security management APP on the mobile device 15. As the user wants to make an instant call with the visitor after viewing, he can press the call button displayed on the security management APP. If the preset call is selected through the microphone and loudspeaker on the networking video device 13, the security management APP activates the mobile device 15, microphone and loudspeaker, and sends a call instruction through the P2P wireless communication link 33 to start the microphone and loudspeaker on the networking video device 13 to realize instant call between the mobile device 15 and the networking video device 13 through the P2P real-time streaming channel and the P2P wireless communication link 33 for providing two-way communication between the house owner and the visitor.
100631 When the user does not want to make an instant call with the visitor after viewing, he can press the monitoring button displayed on the security management APP. The security management APP does not activate the mobile device 15, microphone and loudspeaker, and sends out the monitoring command through the P2P wireless communication link 33 to activate the microphone on the networking video device 13. Through the P2P real-time streaming channel and the P2P wireless communication link 33, the networking video device 13 sends back the audio stream detected by the microphone to the security management APP on the mobile device 15 and provides the house owner to view and monitor the doorway conditions. When the house owner feels that there is an abnormal condition at the door, he can press the eviction button displayed on the security management APP to order the loudspeaker of the networking video device 13 to send out a warning sound to drive away the visitors, or the security management APP has an option button for user to operate to notify the police.
100641 After viewing or talking with the visitor, when the user agrees the visitor to enter the room, he can press the unlock button displayed on the security management APP. The mobile device 15 sends an unlocking command to the networking video device 13 through the P2P wireless communication link 33, or optionally through the communication path between the network connection link 34 and the message sewer 17. After receiving the unlocking command, the networking video device 13 enables and establishes a second wireless communication link 32 between the networking video device 13 and the electronic lock 14. In this embodiment, it is preferable to select BLE communication protocol to establish the second wireless communication link 32, and an AES 256 encryption technology is applied to the communication process of the second wireless communication link 32 to ensure the communication security between the networking video device 13 and the electronic lock 14.
100651 After the second wireless communication link 32 between the networking video device 13 and the electronic lock 14 is established, the networking video device 13 continues to send the unlocking command to the electronic lock 14 through the encrypted second wireless communication link 32. After the networking video device 13 successfully sends the unlocking command to the electronic lock 14, the networking video device 13 broadcasts a message to the user-bound mobile device 15 through the P2P wireless communication link 33, or optionally through the communication path between the network connection link 34 and the message server 17 to notify the user that the electronic lock 14 has been commanded to unlock.
100661 It should be noticed that, in the case that the networking video device 13 is integrated with the door phone 11 as the real-time communication device 4 as disclosed in FIG. 3, the networking video device 13 can first sends the unlocking command to the door phone 11 through physical connection lines inside the real-time communication device 4 or the first communication link 31. The door phone 11, in this embodiment, enables and establishes the first communication link 31 between the door phone 11 and the electronic lock 14 after receiving the unlocking command After the first communication link 31 between the door phone 11 and the electronic lock 14 is established, the door phone 11 continues to send the unlocking command received from the networking video device 13 to the electronic lock 14 through the encrypted first communication link.31.
100671 When the electronic lock 14 receives the unlocking command, it exits the energy-saving mode and enters the working mode After verifying and confirming that the source and authority of the unlocking command are safe, the internal motor is enabled and activated to turn to unlocking direction to move the latch bolt to the retrieved position, so as to make the electronic lock 14 enter the unlocked status. After the electronic lock 14 performs the unlocking operation, the encrypted second wireless communication link 32 sends back the unlocking notification to the networking video device 13. The networking video device 13 follows the P2P wireless communication link 33, or optionally through the communication path between the network connection link 34 and the message server 17 to broadcast an unlocking message to the user-bound mobile device 15 to notify that the electronic lock 14 has been unlocked. Meanwhile the door panel 23 can be freely opened, and the portal 20 enters an opened status to allow the visitor to enter the room freely.
100681 Under the above system architecture, since the networking video device 13 is specially used to monitor the security of the portal 20 and provide instant images, its installation position must be very close to the door panel 23 and the electronic lock 14, which can effectively reduce the physical distance between the electronic lock 14 and the networking video device 13. As a result, the communication distance between the electronic lock 14 and the networking video device 13 is also shortened accordingly. When wireless communication between the networking video device 13 and the electronic lock 14 is carried out, the problems of communication interference and RF signal attenuation between the electronic lock 14 and the networking video device 13 can be effectively reduced, which ensures the necessary communication quality. Under such a system architecture, the mobile device 15 does not even need to be bound with the electronic lock 14 in advance, or an electronic lock 14 does not need to be added in the security management APP of the mobile device in advance, which effectively simplifies the use and gives users convenient use experience.
100691 The networking video device 13 can also be optionally equipped with a gateway module to implement the gateway function, so that the networking video device 13 can be used as a gateway for a local area network (LAN) to provide other peripheral smart devices for connection and establish a LAN. In particular, it can provide specific intelligent security devices scattered around the portal 20 and involving personal and property security protection to join together to form a set of special purpose security LANs. However, this security LAN can connect to the LANs of other intelligent systems through the networking video device 13 with a gateway function to cooperate with the smart devices in other intelligent systems, or connect to other external intelligent systems or cloud systems through the networking video device 13 with a gateway function, so as to bring more play.
100701 On the other hand, when the networking video device 13 acts as the gateway for a local area network (LAN), it is implementing a multi-functional gateway. Then, besides providing the gateway function to the devices in the local area network, the networking video device 13 also has the functions of photography and lighting, or the networking video device 13 can accept the control from the gateway and become part of other intelligent systems. Alternatively, the networking video device 13 can also accept the control of the gateway from other intelligent systems and cooperate with other intelligent systems.
100711 Moreover, the security protection system proposed by the present invention does not require a gateway as a whole, and can effectively avoid the risk of information leakage caused by encryption or security sensitive information passing through the gateway. In particular, the information security of the electronic lock 14 during the unlocking operation can be ensured. If the communication between the networking video device 13 and the mobile device 15 can be further restricted, during the unlocking operation or the encryption-related operation, communication passes through the P2P wireless communication link 33 only and is cancelled through the communication path of the message sewer 17, allowing to form a semi-closed communication path on its own, so that the security information can be limited in the semi-closed communication path to enhance the information security and reduce the risk of electronic lock password or sensitive information being stolen or hacked.
100721 In summary, the portal security and protection system 10 (and the portal security and protection system 10' as well) proposed by the present invention can also be regarded as a portal security and management system oriented by the electronic lock 14, and can be integrated with or separated from the smart home system for independent use According to the system architecture in accordance with the present invention, the electronic lock receives control instruction from the network monitoring camera. Due to the very short physical distance between the network surveillance camera and the electronic lock, the electronic lock reduces the communication interference and RF signal attenuation to the greatest extent in the remote operation process, ensures the necessary communication quality, and overcomes the problems existing in the conventional technology. Moreover, under the system architecture proposed by the present invention, the user end device does not even need to be bound with the electronic lock in advance, which can simplify the operation of the electronic lock and create a convenient use experience. In addition, the system architecture in accordance with the present invention provides multiple options for the configuration of the gateway, which can be built directly into the network surveillance camera, or choose to connect with other gateways, or directly remove the gateway from the system architecture, thus reducing the risk of electronic lock password or sensitive information being stolen or hacked and enhancing the information security.
