Abstract

257,344. Barker, F. May 29, 1925. Bread; setting-applzances. -Relates to mechanism for regulating the delivery of lumps of dough to proving and other machines and is suitable for feeding the machine described in Specification 233,761. The feed regulator comprises a rotary drum a having a cavity or cavities a' which is, or are, wiped by an apron on which the dough lump falls, from the conveyer g, and remains stationary until the apron falls into the cavity a<1> into which the dough rolls. The dough is then dropped into a shoot in which a positively operated flap valve m is mounted whereby the lumps are directed alternately into opposite ends of the same conveyer bucket or into separate buckets travelling in different places. The flap m is keyed on a shaft n carrying a pinion which engages a toothed quadrant integral with a lever arm carrying a bowl which engages a cam groove in a rotary disc u. In a modification, Fig. 5, a positively rotated roller replaces the apron.
