Abstract

The multilayer hollow ball has a central, base layer 1, and two coating layers 2, 3, sequentially attached to each other. The base layer 1 is formed of two halves 1A, 1B connected by interlocking abutting edges 1B1, 1A2 of a concave, convex structure. The first coating layer 2 is fabric. The interlocking abutting edges 1B1, 1A2 may make the base layer 1 more stable and may be attached together. The base layer 1 may be PU foam or a plastics material, while the second coating layer 3 may be EVA foam or plastics material. The layers 1, 2, 3 may be connected by glue or hot pressing. The ball may be a volleyball, football or basketball and may never need to be inflated. Gas may be present within the base layer 1 after having been injected by a syringe.

Description

HOLLOW BALL
The present invention relates to the technical field of sports products, and in particular, to balls such as footballs, basketballs, and volleyballs.
Balls such as footballs and volleyballs are sports products that are used very widely and are massively popular among sportsmen in the whole world. The structure of a conventional ball usually includes two layers, that is, a bladder and panels. The panels of the ball are stitched together by using secure threads. The panels are generally stitched first, and the bladder is pushed inside the panels before the last panel is stitched. The opening is then sealed. After being sufficiently inflated, the bladder presses tightly against the panels. Such a ball mainly has the following disadvantages: first, the two-layer structure of the bladder and the panels has poor resistance to strong impact, and the ball bursts easily especially when hitting a sharp object; second, the bladder needs to be inflated frequently, so that an inflation nozzle is needed. The inflation nozzle can be easily damaged due to quality problems or external force pressing and impact during use, and gas leakage occurs easily, further making the ball unusable.
In view of the disadvantages that exist in the prior art, the present invention provides a hollow ball that has a more reasonable structural design and higher structural strength and achieves better balance between comfort and controllability.
To resolve the foregoing technical problems, the present invention adopts the following technical solution: A hollow ball has a three-layer structure, including a hollow ball layer, a fabric layer, and a patch layer sequentially from inside to outside, wherein, the hollow ball layer has a structure including a left half and a right half, including a left half hollow ball and a right half hollow ball, at least one concave portion or convex portion is disposed on the left half hollow ball, a convex portion or a concave portion matching with the concave portion or the convex portion on the left half hollow ball is disposed on the right half hollow ball, and the left half hollow ball and the right half hollow ball are inserted into and fastened to each other using the concave-convex structure to form the entire hollow ball layer that is hollow inside;
the fabric layer is fastened on the surface of the hollow ball layer through strands or fabric dipped with glue to form a frame structure of the ball; and the patch layer is fastened on the surface of the fabric layer by gluing or hot pressing to form a skin structure of the ball.
Preferably, one concave portion, that is, a left concave portion is disposed on the left half hollow ball; a convex portion, that is, a right convex portion, matching with the concave portion on the left half hollow ball is disposed on the right half hollow ball. The convex portion is inserted in the concave portion to form the entire hollow ball layer that is hollow inside, and the inserted interfacing portions are sealed and fastened to each other by gluing or hot pressing to form the entire hollow ball layer.
Alternatively, at least one concave portion and at least one convex portion, that is, a left concave portion and a left convex portion, are both disposed on the left half hollow ball; a convex portion and a concave portion, that is, a right convex portion and a right concave portion, which are matched with those on the left half hollow ball in number and position are disposed on the right half hollow ball. The convex portion is inserted in the concave portion to form the entire hollow ball layer that is hollow inside, and inserted interfacing portions are sealed and fastened to each other by gluing or hot pressing to form the entire hollow ball layer. The fastening structure of the hollow ball layer can be more stable by fastening in a staggered splicing manner.
Preferably, the fabric layer is fastened on the surface of the hollow ball layer by hot pressing and gluing.
Preferably, the hollow ball layer is made of a PU foam material, and the PU foam material is an EVA material, a TPE material, a TPR material, an NBR material, an EPDM material, an SBL material, a POE material, a TPU material, a PVC material or a PE material.
Preferably, the patch layer is made of an EVA foam material, and the EVA foam material is a TPE material, a TPR material, an SBR material, an NBR material, an EPDM material, an SBL material, a POE material, a PE material, a TPU material, a PVC material, a PU material or a leather material.
After the left half hollow ball and the right half hollow ball are glued, the fabric layer is fastened on the glued hollow ball layer by gluing or hot pressing, a syringe is used to inject gas such as nitrogen or another safe gas into the sealed hollow ball layer, to increase the mass of a ball body, and the patch layer is then glued. In this way, the fabric layer and the patch layer are further provided around a bladder, making the ball firmer and more durable. Moreover, after one-time inflation, double shells are used for sealing without causing gas leakage, so that there is no need for inflation, and a nozzle is omitted, thereby improving the practicability and increasing the service life.
In the present invention, a left hemispheric hollow body and a right hemispheric hollow body are spliced instead of using a conventional inflatable ball bladder, and a fabric layer is glued or hot pressed on the surface of a hollow ball layer. The fabric layer forms a frame structure of the ball. A patch layer is finally disposed on an outer surface of the fabric layer to form a skin structure of the ball. In this way, the entire ball has a strong internal structure, higher impact resistance, and high elasticity. In addition, a nozzle is further omitted, and frequent inflation due to gas leakage is avoided, thereby improving the practicability and increasing the service life.
