Each switch places a corresponding resistance 1, 2, 3 in parallel with every under load relay 20, one of which is associated with each machine, thus reducing the proportion between the ampere turns of each relay and the load being carried by that machine and thereby altering the percentage load decrement which will cause relay contactor 18 and the shutting down of the machine.
