Abstract
An internet gambling system includes a server, a computation device, an operation device, and a display device. The server is connected through the internet with the computation device. Before a player makes a bet, the server transmits game result cipher text encrypted through a symmetric key encryption system to the computation device to be displayed on the display device. When the player places a bet within a predetermined period of time, the server supplies a decryption key to the computation device for immediate decryption and comparison with an answer or outcome selected by the player when making the betting. The correct answer or game outcome is then displayed from the decryption of the game result cipher text together with the players selected answer or outcome. The decryption key can also be displayed, allowing the player to verify the correct answer or outcome by decrypting the game result cipher text themselves. The player must place a bet within the predetermined time period, which is a short interval, after the game result cipher text is displayed to prevent the player conducting a brute force attack on the cipher text. High fairness can be achieved for both the player and the gambling company.
Description
TITLE: INTERNET GAMBLING DEVICE (a) Technical Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to an Internet gambling device, and more particularly to an Internet gambling device that allows for verification of game fairness. (b) Description of the Prior Art A known Internet gambling game is generally involved a remote server and a betting device that is operated by a player. The server operates to open, in a random manner, a number and before the number is opened, the player must place his or her bet on a number. When the server opens the number or a combination of numbers to which an award is provided, the player immediately knows he or she wins or not.
However, the operation of such a game is based on a central processing system and the Internet, of which the operation speeds are extremely high so that players often commonly question if the number of the combination of numbers that wins would be improperly manipulated based on the condition of betting and as such, there is always doubt about fairness of the game.
To address such an issue of doubtfulness raised by the players and also to gain the confidence of the public, an Internet gambling game system is available, in which the answer is first transmitted, in combination with a random string, is enciphered through MD5 message-digest algorithm and transmitted to the player first and the answer in a non-enciphered form is then transmitted to the player after the player has placed his or her bet. The player may then verify the string of the answer is identical to the enciphered string by applying the MD5 deciphering. However, there is a potential risk that the player may operate a super computer to apply the technique that is referred to as collision to deciphering the random string that is combined with the answer so that the player may break the answer of the game. This is surely unfair to the gaming company that offers the gambling game.
Thus, it is desired to have an Internet gambling game that is fair to both the player and the gaming company.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides an Internet gambling device, which helps overcome potential risk of unfairness to the players and the gaming company in the known Internet gambling games.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides an Internet gambling device. The Internet gambling device of the present invention comprises at least a server, a computation device, an operation device, and a display device. The server is set up at a remote site and is connected through the Internet with the computation device. The server provides and outputs game result cipher text that is encrypted through a symmetric key encryption system and a decryption key that decrypts the game result cipher text. The computation device comprises at least a memory and a decryption program for storing the game result cipher text from the server and to carry out a decryption operation on the game result cipher text. The operation device is connected to the computation device and comprises an input device that is operable for entering a selected game answer for betting. The display device is connected to the computation device to display the game result cipher text and the decrypted game result.
An efficacy of the present invention is that, in the present invention, at the beginning of a game, game result cipher text is transmitted, after being encrypted through a symmetric key encryption system, to a computation device to be displayed on a display device. When the player places the bet within a given period of time, the server supplies a decryption key to the computation device for immediate computation for decryption and also for comparison with the answer selected by the player for placing the bet. Thereafter, the correct answer is published on the display device. This helps ensure no fraud could be possible for the game result and also, the answer of the game result could not be broken in advance before betting is made by the player. As such, high fairness for both the player and the gaming company can be achieved.
The foregoing objectives and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is a schematic view, in the form of a block diagram, showing an Internet gambling device according to the present invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The following descriptions are exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
Referring to FIG. 1, the present invention comprises at least a server 1, a computation device 2, an operation device 3, and a display device 4.
The server 1 is set up at a remote site. The server outputs game result cipher text that is encrypted by a symmetric key encryption system, and a decryption key that decrypts the game result cipher text. The server 1 is connected, via the Internet to at least one computation device 2.
The computation device 2 comprises at least a memory and a decryption program for storing the game result cipher text from the server 1 and to carry out a decryption operation on the game result cipher text after acquiring the decryption key so that the game result can be deciphered to demonstrate a plain text answer.
The operation device 3 is connected to the computation device 2 and comprises an input device that is operable for entering a selected game answer and to transmit the selected game answer on which bet is placed to the computation device 2.
The display device 4 is connected to the computation device 2 to display the game result cipher text and the decrypted game result.
The computation device 2 can be any one of a computer, a tablet computer, a smart phone, and a wearable computer. The input device of the operation device 3 can be one of a computer keyboard and a computer mouse. The display device 4 can be a liquid crystal display (LCD). Further, the operation device 3 and the display device 4 that could be stand-alone devices may be integrated as a unitary device, such as a touch panel.
In the use of the invention, at the beginning of a gambling game, the server 1 outputs and supplies game result cipher text that has been encrypted through a symmetric key encryption system to the computation device 2 and the game result cipher text is stored in the memory of the computation device 2 and is also displayed on the display device 4. The answer on which the bet is placed will be displayed on the display device 4 and is uploaded by the computation device 2 to the server 1. After the predetermined period of time that is given for placing bets is closed, the contents of betting is no longer allowed to change. When the server 1 receives the selected answer on which the bet is placed uploaded from the computation device 2, a decryption key is transmitted from the server 1 to the computation device 2 and is then transmitted from the computation device 2 to the display device 4 to be displayed on the display device 4. Upon receiving the decryption key, the computation device 2 conducts a quick decryption operation to complete deciphering in an extremely short period of time and then shows, on the display device 4, the correct answer so deciphered, on which a comparison is then made to the answer selected to place the bet.
The result of comparison will be displayed on the display device 4. An example is as follows: Game result: 23; Time: 2015/05/28 15:35:22; Key: e2 eO 89 4c 4a 38 09 c3 a6 c8 ab 43 ea 02 19 e5 d3 2e cO 14 46 c6 9b al 71 b4 12 cO 52 If d9 71.
An efficacy of the present invention is that, in the present invention, the game result cipher text is first supphed and displayed, in a formed of being encrypted by the symmetric key encryption system, on the display device 4 before betting is made. When the player places the bet within a given period of time, the server 1 then supplies a decryption key to the computation device 2 for immediate computation for decryption and also for comparison with the answer selected by the player for placing the bet. Thereafter, the correct answer is published on the display device 4. This helps ensure no fraud could be possible for the game result and also, the answer of the game result could not be broken in advance before betting is made by the player. As such, high fairness for both the player and the gaming company can be achieved.
It will be understood that each of die elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.
While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the claims of the present invention.
Claims (6)
1. An Internet gambling device, comprising: a server, which is set up at a remote site, the server providing and outputting game result cipher text that is encrypted by a symmetric key encryption system and a decryption key that decrypts the game result cipher text; a computation device, which is connected through the Internet with the server and comprises at least a memory and a decryption program for storing the game result cipher text from the server and to carry out a decryption operation on the game result cipher text after acquiring the decryption key; an operation device, which is connected to the computation device and comprises an input device that is operable for entering a selected game answer for betting; and a display device, which is connected to the computation device to display the game result cipher text, the decrypted game result, and the selected game answer entered through the operation device.
2. The Internet gambling device according to claim 1, wherein the computation device one of a computer, a tablet computer, a smart phone, and a wearable computer.
3. The Internet gambling device according to claim 1, wherein the input device of the operation device is one of a computer keyboard and a computer mouse.
4. The Internet gambling device according to claim 1, wherein the display device is a liquid crystal display.
5. The Internet gambling device according to claim 1, wherein the operation device and the display device are combined as a touch screen.
6. An Internet gambling method, comprising a server, a computation device, an operation device, and a display device, the server being connected through the Internet with the computation device, the computation device being connected to the operation device and the display device, wherein the server outputs and supplies game result cipher text that is encrypted through a symmetric key encryption system to the computation device to have the game result cipher text displayed on the display device for allowing a player to select an answer for game result that is entered through the operation device for making betting, the selected answer of the game result being displayed on the display device and uploaded from the computation device to the server; when the server receives the selected answer for the game result uploaded from the computation device, the server supplies a decryption key to the computation device to be further transmitted from the computation device to the display device and displayed on the display device; and the computation device, upon receiving the decryption key, conducts fast a decryption operation and then displays a correct answer on the display device and makes a comparison with the answer selected by the player so that the result of comparison is displayed on the display device.
