Abstract
253,432. Yuwaki, F. Dec. 10, 1925. Sluice gates.-An automatically acting sluice gate for drainage conduits on farms &c. comprising a shutter 2, Fig. 2, adapted to be held in a vertical closed position by the pressure of the water on one face. is pivotally suspended at a point slightly above its centre of gravityfrom a pair of rods 7 connected to rollers or wheels 6 running on rails 5 above and at the sides of the gate. The conduit 1 is provided with abutments 4 against which the gate closes. The rails 5 may be inclined, as shown in Fig. 4, by inserting wedges 9 beneath the rails, which may slope in either direction. An additional guards rail 10 may be provided. A bar 8 may be provided on the gate on which weights may be hung to adjust the weight of the gate.
