Abstract

A training aid for attachment onto the face of racquets (e.g. tennis racquets) comprises a hook and loop panel or board A that incorporates holes or vents B to permit airflow. The hook and loop panel A is designed for use with hook and loop ball or similar projectiles so that the ball when hit will not depart from the racquet head. The panel A is preferably attached to the racquet using hook and loop straps (D, figure 2), an elasticated sleeve (H, figure 4) or a side zip on cover (figure 5). The training aid may further comprise a waterproof cover or jacket (g, figure 3) for the hook and loop panel A. The waterproof cover (g, figure 3) may comprise a pocket to hold a ball and may allow the user to work against the resistance of air to improve wrist and arm strength.

Description

Tennis training aid.
My research shows me that there are very few useful tennis training aids available and very few that can be used in a confined spaces! smaller areas.
This invention creates a useful new device which is designed to assist in the practising of the tennis serve and other tennis strokes on or off court and in confined spaces.
This device also allows the user to practise tennis strokes safely as the ball when thrown and hit will not depart the racquet head. The device allows the user to practise volley shots, an accurate toss of the bail, the serve impact and the follow through of the serve. As well as allowing the user to see the exact will remain fixed onto the panel that is attached to the racquet after its impact.
On occasions the device gives options to eliminate the time it takes to pick up a large number of loose balls during or after conventional training sessions.
To facilitate the above a hook and loop faced panel has been devised which would be tailored to fit onto the face of any adult or junior tennis racquets or any racquets that have the capabilities to match these racquets in scale or usage of the device when attached The panel is easily removed when finished with.
The device is intended to be used with a hook and loop type ball or other similar projectile.
In most cases the panel can be stored within the racquets original cover or case. The panel may come with a detachable waterproof cover which can be left on so the user can implement the secondary training feature of the device which aids wrist and arm strength by working against the resistance of the air when the devices panel cover is retained during practise strokes.
Key features of this design are the use of hook or loop material on the front of the device. The back of device can be made using a number of different materials for example plastic, metal, wood, paper, or foam.
The invention will now be described solely by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure ishows the hook and loop panel in its fitted position on the front of the tennis racquet.
Figure 2 shows the back of the tennis racquet and the back of the plastic panel.
Figure 3 shows the waterproof cover fitted on the panel.
Figure 4 shows the panel with an alternative means of attachment to the racquet.
FigureS shows an example of an alternative means of attachment of the hook and loop panel.
In figure 1 reference A, shows a hook and loop panel face Reference B, shows the eyelets or moulded holes or vents/voids of which the number and scale can be varied.
Reference C, shows the plastic or material edging that finishes the edge of the panel.
In figure 2, reference D, shows the hook and loop straps straps attaching the device to the racquet through the strings.
Reference E, shows the behind view of the moulded holes in the Plastic panel as viewed through racquet strings.
Reference F, shows the plastic panel as viewed through racquet strings.
In figure 3, reference G shows the nylon or plastic coated waterproof cover with pocket for a ball or other objects that is attachable to panel via a number of hook and loop pads/points.
In figure 4, shows an alternative method of attaching the hook and loop panel A. By using an elasticated side panel H. Figure 5. shows an example of alternative attachment of the hook and loop panel A,using azipper,J zip starts here J, zip ends here i.
Figure 6 shows the elasticated straps K that assist the elasticated sides in holding the panel on the racquet.
