Abstract

A stand for a roll of paper or like material for garment pattern makers comprises a vertical spindle 1,2 mounted upon a turntable 3, the stand having wheels, castors or the like 5 allowing it to be moved from place to place and being adapted so as to prevent the stand tipping over.

Description

DESCRIPTION
Paper and Card Unroller I am a garment pattern maker using card or paper to make my patterns.
The card comes on large, heavy rolls. For example: a roll of paper can measure, one and a quarter meters tall, two hundred, and fifty metres of paper and eighteen kilo's in weight.
The rolls stand vertical, and I find it differcult to unroll. There is also a safty issue. These rolls can topple over and land on a person's foot. Also moving the rolls are differcult and heavy.
Invention The roll of paper or card sits on a sturdy base with a pole though it's centre, to prevent the roll toppling over.
The roll sits on a turn table to allow easy supply of paper or card.
The base carrys swivel wheels, which allow easy movement from pattern maker and place to another.
Fig 1 Shows a roll of paper or card The roll will sit on the turntable with the pole and fatter tube though the centre of the roll.
Fig 2 Shows the unroller Arrow (1) is a metal, hollow pole, that is removable. It sits in a fatter tube that is fixed to the base. First remove the pole, then lift the heavy roll over the fatter tube and on the turn table, then replace the pole through the top of the roll.
Arrow (2) the fatter metal tube is fixed to the base.
Arrows (3) the turntable is a separate unit with a hole through its middle that is treaded over the pole and fatter tube and sits on the flat base.
Arrow (4) the flat base has the fat tube fixed at its centre.
Arrow (5) under the base there are four legs that carry the four swivelling, trolly type wheels.
Fig 3 Shows the roll of paper or card sitting on the steady, rolling, unroller.

Claims (4)

  1. CLAIMS1) The stand, the roll sits on has a sturdy base to prevent it toppling over.
  2. 2) The roll sits on a turn table which makes it easier to unroll the paper or card.
  3. 3) The stand comes with swivel wheels which make is easy to move from place to place.
  4. 4) The stand, stands the paper vertically.
