Abstract

A candle support made of edible material, has protuberance 2 in its bottom side to keep it steady when inserted in a soft surface. Hole (1, Fig 1) on its top side, holds cup 3 which contains wax 4 and wick 5 to burn for a short time. The candle can be made of any eatable material, e.g chocolate or candy. Cup 3 can be made of any suitable material for holding wax, e.g metal, plastic or cardboard. After the candle is blown the small cup of wax with the wick can be removed and the candle holder eaten.

Description

1 2437520

EATABLE CANDLES

The invention relates to candles usually lit for very short periods of time, the types seen in anniversaries, birthdays and other kinds of celebrations that include the blowing of a candle or candles as part of the ceremony.

Such candles are well-known, but suffer from the disadvantage that, after being used for a very short period of time, usually just a few seconds, they are put away. Most of the candle is usually wasted, since it only burns for a little while, leaving much of its wax body intact. Most of its potential is not fully explored.

An object of this invention is to provide the candle with just the right amount of wax needed for its short burning, and to make the candle fully useful, making its body from materials that can be eaten after the candle is blown, such as chocolate, candy or any other eatable material.

Accordingly, this invention provides a candle with a body made of any eatable material.

There is a small hole on top of the candle, where a little cup containing just enough wax and a wick for its short burning is placed. The little cup can be made of any suitable material for holding wax, both in cold and hot temperatures.

Preferably, after the flame is blown off, the little cup containing the wax and the wick is taken out, so the candle made of eatable material can now be eaten as a new component of the celebration ritual. However, if this is not done, it will not be harmful to ingest it, since the wax and the wick made of cotton material is not harmful to the health and provided that the little cup is made of a soft, harmless material.

A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: FIGURE 1 shows a side view of the whole candle without the little cup on the top.

F'GURE 2 is a section showing the top of the candle and the small hole where the little cup containing some wax and a wick is inserted.

FIGURE 3 shows the little cup of wax and the wick.

FIGURE 4 shows the candle in its complete form, with the little cup of wax and the wick now inserted in the hole located on the top of the candle.

As shown in Figure 1, the candle looks like any ordinary birthday I anniversary candle, only that, unlike traditional celebration candles, these are made of eatable materials, such as chocolate or candy. The candle in the drawing is number-shaped, but can be made in any shape desired, preferably with a protuberance 2 in the bottom, used to insert the candle in a soft surface, to keep it steady.

Figure 2 shows a top view of the eatable candle, showing the small hole 1 where the little cup 3 with some wax 4 and a wick 5 is inserted.

Figure 3 shows the little cup 3 containing a wick 5 and enough wax 4 for its short burning. This little cup 3 is placed in the small holel located on the top of the eatable candle.

Figure 4 shows the eatable candle now complete, with its little cup 3 of wax 4 and the wick 5 inserted in the small holel located in the top of the candle. After being blown, this little cup 3 can be removed and the candle eaten, adding a new component to the ceremony.
