Abstract

A delivery box comprises a waterproof box and lid 4. A keypad is provided to access a coded lock 1. In use, the code may be supplied to the delivery person to open the box, or the lid of the box can be left unlocked until closed by the delivery person. The unit has detachable weights 3 to provide stability. The unit may have a chain 2 to attach the box to a wall via a hook. The chain may be embedded into the exterior of the box. The box may have a cooler unit to allow food deliveries and it may have an anti-movement siren. In use, the box may be placed outside the front door allowing internet deliveries etc.

Description

Home delivery unit The unit allows home delivery items to be accepted when
the household are away.
The unit will be placed out side the front door when a delivery is expected. The unit can be various sizes; however a normal size will be able to accept a standard box.
The unit will have a lock, with a code which is supplied to the delivery person to open unit (Figure 1 point 1). Alternatively, the door will left unlocked until the delivery person closes the door.
Internet shopping is on the increase. One of the disadvantages is the logistics of taking delivery. This unit will allow items to be delivered without the house hold being available.
Home workers are on the increase and may require delivery of items on a regular basis. For example, medical sales are generally based at home and receive literature and samples from their company on a regular basis. The Sales forces are out selling and are generally not available to take delivery.
Long distance studying is also on the increase and can help the delivery of course material.
Home delivery supermarket shopping is been introduced by most of the major supennarkets. This unit will be able to take delivery of small shopping The unit will have a lid for storage of the items (Figure 1 point 4).
The unit will be water proof.
The unit may also have a chain to attach to a wall (figure 1 point 2). The chain will be embedded within the unit. The chain can be connected to a hook which has been fixed to the house wall. Units may also have a siren which will be activated if the unit is moved.
The unit will have detachable weight to stabilize the unit (Figure 1 Point 3) Some units may have a cooler to allow food deliveries. The unit can be stored away until required. Claim

Claims (4)

1 This unit will allow delivery of items when the house hold is empty.
2. The unit will allow collections for returns when house hold is empty.
3. The unit will reduce the amount of abortive deliveries.
4. The unit can be used for storage when not in use.
