Abstract

A door support frame 4 has two adjustable screw legs 1 each with a base plate 3 and a handle 2. The height of the legs may be fixed by the tightening of a locking nut 5. In use the door is placed in the frame, with the frame fitting under the base of the door, and secured by the use of a wedge 6. The door, with the attached frame, is positioned in the door frame and the legs adjusted allowing the hinged door to be securely screwed to the door frame. Once the door has been hung, the wedge is removed and the frame slid away from under the door.

1 2420371 The invention is in relation to the fitting of doors to a door
framework.
When fitting the door to the frame, if a second person is not available the difficulty is one of being unable to hold the door and screw the hinges to the frame safely and securely. This can cause damage to the framework if the door moves or topples whilst trying to secure the screws.
To overcome this, this invention proposes a frame to support the door which can then be adjusted to the required height by turning the adjustable leg screws.
The advantage will be that the door is held securely in order to attach the hinged door to the frame without the need of a second person or the risk of causing damage to yourself or surrounding structure (walls, frames etc) and it would also save on time.
An example of the invention as described by accompanying drawings.
Two adjustable leg screws 1. with attached handles 2. and base plates 3. are attached to either side of the frame 4. where connected nuts 5. enable frame to be adjusted to required height. Wedge 6. slots between door and frame to secure.
The centre base of the frame is designed to fit under the base of the door and the wedge is placed between the door and frame to secure the door and prevent the movement of the door. The door with the attached frame is positioned to the door frame where the adjustable foot plates are raised to the required height, which will the allow the hinged door to be securely screwed into the framework using both hands freely. Once the door is securely attached to the door frame the leg screws can be re- adjusted and the door frame removed by sliding under the base of the door. Claim

Claims (1)

1. A door support frame, including two height adjustable, rotatable legs
with handles in order to adjust to an even level. Plus one detachable wedge to position between door and support frame.
